Cellucidate to Debut at ASCB
BOSTON, Mass. – December 9, 2008 – Plectix BioSystems, Inc. today announced the conference debut of Cellucidate, the new web-based platform for studying cell signaling systems. The Plectix team will be putting this innovative product through its paces at the 48th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), which convenes on December 13th in San Francisco, California.
Cellucidate uses a computational representation of empirical information that is natural and intuitive and aligns well with how researchers reason about cell signaling systems. By specifying a set of information that they believe to be relevant, users are able to create a well-defined, self-documenting model of their system of interest that can then be simply executed, analyzed and updated over the web on Cellucidate.
“Cellucidate enables researchers to move seamlessly from the representation of their system of interest to the causal and dynamic implications, while the underlying approach keeps combinatorial complexity under control without eliminating or simplifying it” commented Plectix CEO Paul Edwards.
“The ability to answer meaningful cellular signaling “what if” questions with specificity and confidence can have a powerful complementary impact on laboratory-based research” added Dr Gordon Webster, Vice-President of Biology at Plectix. “Scientists are able to select and design the experiments that have the most potential impact on their research.”
A rolling release of the public beta version of Cellucidate began on 1st December. During the public beta period, Plectix will solicit feedback from Cellucidate users on features and functionalities, which will continue to evolve. Interested users can learn more at www.cellucidate.com, or by visiting the company at Booth 2110 during the ASCB Annual Meeting.
